I really enjoyed reading this book. What's funny is that we're going through an immigration issue right now and this book shows their struggles and why they even want to come to America. It showed me we're butting our noses in everyone elses business when they really need our assistance. I never really thought about Central American immigrants having to go through Mexico on top of freight trains, getting dismembered, and just being beaten period. It shows that you should be grateful for what you have.
It's crazy how the immigrants have to make a decison between living in poverty, in shacks, and having no food, and no work OR to leave them and go to America, and going on that perilous journey. I'm happy I will never have to make that decision.
