Points Of View, "Inez" by Merle Hodge

Stereotype-an idea of what a particular type of person is like, especially one which is wrong or unfair. Stereotype is something that everyone does everyday. You can stereotype someone without even knowing you're doing it. Just like in this story Inez was stereotyped by everyone around her. Her landlord, baby's daddy, kid's teachers, a nurse, and a police man. They all basically thought the same thing about her: she was a bad mom, irresponsible, etc. What sucks is this is what happens to me on a daily basis. Getting on the bus and seeing all the "looks" from unapproved faces. It's sad to see how they all just look at me as they did Inez. That I'm irresponsible and a bad mom because I'm young, and that I don't know what I'm doing but they're wrong. I know I'm a good mom and I don't need anyone to tell me I am because I know. It's sad how easily we can just look at somebody and just start assuming so many things about that person and not know one thing about them. We can look at a white girl in a nice car and just assume they're little rich spoiled brats from the valley, or see a black or Mexican boy with sagging pants and assume that they're from a hood. We should stop judging others and take a look at ourselves we're not perfect and we are no better than them.

Man oh Man

Well life has been going pretty good for me my man got a job!! yay guess im getting christmas presents this year!! (well i do every year but i was scared I wasn't gonna get any) but yeahh anyways other than that life has been fine my daughter has like a little cold but she's getting better!! I feel kinda weird because nobody really writes on here but me if u guys are reading START WRITING IN YOUR BLOGS DAMMIT and you know who you are I need to comment on you guys!! soo dang I haven't even talked about our girls night out!! I'll try and post some pics soon so you guys can see how much fun we were having I don't wanna go into too much details because that's private!! wellpz homitas until next time!!!

Been a while

Yeah It's been a while since I've been on here!! Just wanted to check in to see if anyone has been on here!!! Life has been okay pretty mellow everythings... chill I don't know how else to put it... Man I'm so tired of high school and I know I can do it but I'm lagging it because I have things in my life that I have to take care of too... My family. So halloween was fun!! I got a lot of candy!! I was a hula dancer, Angeliah was a tiger and Angel (my man) was a scary a$$ wizard kids were freaked out it was hilarious!! And Azucena made a surprise appearance (lol) at school If u read this I missed ur a$$ girl... Well I really can't think of anything else until next time!!!
